We often get questions from customers who are going to buy their first Judo suit, so we have chosen to answer some of the questions on this page. What size should I choose for my judo suit?

When choosing the size of your judo suit, you should consider your height and weight. Usually you need to choose a suit that is 5-10 cm longer than your own body length, as many of the suits shrink up to 10% when washed at 30/40 degrees. Children's suits and lighter suits are usually shown in cm sizes and generally shrink a bit more, while traditional judo suits come in sizes 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5 and up, with less shrinkage in the wash. Which judo suit should I buy as a beginner?

As a beginner, it is important that you choose a costume that suits your needs and budget. Usually a soft suit with a weight of 350-450 g/m² is recommended for beginners, as it gives you good freedom of movement and comfort. In comparison, suits in the higher price range are often around 750 g/m² on the jacket. A thicker suit is naturally more durable, but also harder for the opponent to grab.

Do you have competition gi's for judo?

Yes, there are special competition suits for judo which are often made of high quality materials. These suits are also designed to meet the specific rules that apply to judo competitions. IJF (International Judo Federation) approved suits are marked with information about this inside the product pages and have a marking on the suit that shows it is approved.

Can you order custom judo suits?

Yes, we have the opportunity to take home special products from suppliers such as Mizuno, Adidas and DAX. Provided that it is in stock at the supplier. It is also possible to order finer belts with your own embroidery. Email or call us for specific requests!
